THE AREA

Hoeksfontein Safaris' base camp is situated in the Semi-Karoo adjacent to the coastal strip of the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The ranch is 250Km North of Port Elizabeth and is 7000 acres in size. The total area of hunting concessions is 50 000 acres. The closest town to the ranch is Pearston, with Graaff Reinett 100km to the northwest, where there is a shopping mall for the ladies if they wish to shop while in SA. 110km to the northeast, by road,  lies Cradock with the Mountain Zebra Park.

The landscape consists of magnificent rock outcrops, mountains, hills and open plains. You can expect mountainous hunting terrain as well as thick valley bushveld.   Hoeksfontein Safaris has access to some fine hunting areas all over South Africa.
Due to the variety of species offered for hunting, concession areas range from semi-desert to dense forest.
Hunting is conducted in those areas where the best trophies can be obtained.
